The name Hickory stands for a number of tree species of the genus Carya from the family of wallnut trees and comes from eastern North America. It can reach a growth height of up to 40m and a trunk diameter of 1m. The Hickory wood is used for bowyers wood or for manufacturing of tool handles, baseball and golf clubs. It’s also very popular for smoking food. The Hickory veneer is very rarely used, mostly in the production of furniture.
