The East Indian rosewood originates from India and has been a very valued high-grade timber for centuries. Even back then it was used because of its special colouring. It can reach a growth height of up to 25m and a trunk diameter of 1,5m. The East Indian rosewood plays a big role in the production of musical instruments. Due to its density, hardness and sound properties, it is used for marimbar, xylophones, guitars and records.
