Oaks are a plant genus of the beech family (Fagaceae) and originate from Europe. There are over 400 different species of oak trees. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, the oak is the second most common deciduous tree after beech. It can reach a growth height of up to 50 m and a trunk diameter of 2 m. The oak veneer is used almost everywhere and is therefore very popular. It is mainly used in the production of home, office and kitchen furniture, as wall and ceiling coverings, for stairs, doors and very often for parquet.
