The spruce is a genus of plants in the pine family and originates from Europe and Russia. It is the most important supplier of wood for foresty in Germany and is therefore one of the most important German economic tree supplies. Knotty Spruce can reach a growth height of up to 60 m and a trunk diameter of 2 m. The veener of spruce is used in the manufacture of furniture, parquet, stairs, wall and ceiling cladding.
