The Macore is also known as an African pear tree and originates from tropical West Africa. It can reach a growth height of up to 45 m and a trunk diameter of 2 m. In the 60s and 70s, when multi-family house construction was booming in Germany, the Macore became one of the most popular and widely used types of wood for interior fittings, especially for doors. The reddish surface is elegant and resistant to external influences. Even today, the veneer of the Macore is mainly used in the production of doors, but also for furniture, stairs and panelling.
