The oaks are a plant genus of the family of beech (Fagaceae) and they come from Europe. There are over 400 different oak species. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, oak is the second most common deciduous tree, after the beech. In addition to normally sliced oak veneer, there is also the oak rough cut/sawn veneer. A special veneer slice with notches produces veneers with “swords” – the so-called sawn-off. This results in an optical as well as a haptic experience for the end customer. The oak rough sawn veneer is mainly used in furniture and interior fittings.
