The oregon pine, better known as douglasie originates from North America and is one of the hardest and most used softwoods. The Douglasie counts as one of the tallest trees in the World and can reach a growth height of up to 80m and a trunk diameter of 3m. The veneer convinces with its expressive and rustic character, which the straight-fibre coniferous wood receives through its coloration and the striking early wood-late wood contrast. The North American douglasie fir is usually finer-ringed than the native douglasie fir. Its veneer is used in the procution of furniture, wall and ceiling cladding, stairs and parquet floors.
