The Rosewood, also called “Bois de Rose” belongs to the family of Fabaceae (Hülsenfrüchtler) and originates from South America. It can reach a growth height of up to 10 m and a trunk diameter of 0,5 m. The rosewood is described as the most beautiful and expensive wood in the world and is used as veneer mainly in the production of exclusive and high-quality furniture. The rosewood is on the CITES list for endangered species and is therefore only available to a very limited extent.
