The Santos Rosewood originates from the Central Brasil and Bolivia and belongs to one of the first overseas species of wood imported because of their special colouring. The name Santos rosewood comes from the Spanish – Palo Santos and means sacred wood. Due to the limited occurrence and the usually only weakly dimensioned trunks, growth height approx. 12 m and trunk diameter up to 0,60 m, their price is always high and the usability is limited. The veneer of the santos rosewod is used for high-quality furniture and interior fittings.
