The Oak is the plant genus of the Fagaceae family and it originates from Europe. There are over 400 different kinds od oak. In Germany, Switzerland and in Austria is the oak second most deciduous tree, after the beech. It can reach a growth height of up to 50 m and a trunk diameter of 2 m. The oak veneer not only makes a good figure in its pure form, but is also smoked very attractive. In this staining process, which has been used for 150 years, the wood is vaporized with ammonia for several weeks and thus gets a very nice dark coloration. The smoked oak veneer is mainly used in the production of living, office and kitchen furniture, as wall and ceiling clothing, for stairs, doors and as parquet floors.
