The wenge belongs to the family of Fabaceae and originates from Central Africa. It can reach a growth height of up to 20m and a trunk diameter of 0,9m. The dark brown to coffee-black wood/veneer of the wenge, which is crossed with light brown stripes, is gaining in popularity. The veneer of the wenge is used in the production of furniture, doors and panelling.
